I've always been fascinated by how artisans from Japan to Portugal and everywhere in between have turned to cobalt for centuries, as it's one of the oldest glazing compounds in history. The reason I like to work with cobalt is that you get this deep, rich blue that's unlike anything else and is completely unmistakable once you see it.
These days, most people only think of cobalt in terms of batteries. But it's wild to think how this same material has carried across time and continents, shifting from porcelain to tech to where we are today.

ABOUT ME (TREVOR FOSTER)

I'm Trevor Foster
I'm Trevor Foster, a sculptor and craftsman who's been working with ceramics for over a decade. My journey with clay started in Seattle, where I studied ceramics, but my connection to Thailand began much earlier as the child of antique dealers. After graduation, I returned to Thailand to establish my studio in the jungle, where every piece is still crafted today.
My Approach To Craftsmanship
I believe in making well-crafted pieces that people can actually connect with, not just art that sits on a white wall gathering dust. Behind every object tells a story since everything I do starts with a philosophical inquiry that I turn into an idea before it becomes an object that you can hold.
